Mark Griffin represented the developer in obtaining permits from the Historical Commission, Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals. The existing property was a distressed Federalist home with a carriage barn/garage which was in need of serious renovation and repair. The developer renovated the buildings while converting the carriage barn into a residence. The developer restored and preserved numerous period details in the exterior and even the interior of the residences and granted the Newburyport Historical Commission a historic preservation restriction on much of the property. Janos & Griffin conducted the purchase, the condominium conversion and the sale of the three units. The project recently received a preservation award for its attention to period detail
